If you are interested in making your own bees wax candles, you are in luck! Bees wax candles are well known for burning clean (with no wax drippage) and having a great look. They are also known for being very easy to make. The following is a guide to making your own bees wax candles.

The primary way to make bees wax candles is to use a double boiler and candle containers. The process involves heating the wax and using the candle containers to shape the bees wax lumps into candles. This process is not too difficult, but is less safe for children. The alternative way of making bees wax candles does not require molding the candles from the hot wax. Instead, bees wax sheets are employed to roll the candles into shape.

Using bees wax sheets, candle making can be done safely with the whole family. In order to start making your candles, you will need one sheet of bees wax for each candle maker, a pair of scissors, and a wick (preferably made of cotton) at least a half-inch longer than the sheet.

Once you have your supplies, you are ready to start rolling! Place a sheet of the bees wax in front of you and lay a wick across the edge closest to you. Make sure a bit of the wick (at least a half-inch) extends past both sides of the bees wax sheet. You can then carefully roll the candle sheet tightly over the wick. Be sure the wick is tightly wrapped by the candle sheet so that it will stay in place.

Continue to roll the bees wax sheet, applying pressure with your fingers so that the wick is tightly wrapped. Take care when rolling and make sure the sheet is rolled straight, otherwise the edges will become lopsided.

Once the candle is completely rolled up, you must seal the edge of the candle in place so it won’t come undone. All you have to do is press gently with your fingers on the edge of the sheet so that it sticks to the rest of the candle. Don’t press too hard or you could crush your new candle.

Once your candle is all rolled up, simply trim the excess wick on the bottom of the candle so that it is flush. You now have your very own bees wax candle!

If you are planning to make bees wax candles with many people (especially with children), try to pick up a variety of bees wax sheets. They come in a number of colors and patterns, and kids will appreciate the ability to choose the color of the candle they make.

Once you start making your first bees wax candles, you may not want to stop! Candle making can be a lot of fun, and the great part is you’ll have plenty of candles to use to light your home or give away as gifts. Pick up your candle sheets and start making bees wax candles today!
